You know I have been talking talking here about dresses and girly all the time and am really a casual
smart person, is in the DNA. Anyway jana as I was going through my newsfeed I saw my man Gitahi
had posted that picture of Rihana. He was actually talking to somebody else so I went and jipoxed in
that conversation, though my opinion was not required. But its facebook, if it was real life it would be
like you are walking in your hood, you see a door open, people are in there talking, you, you just walk
in and ingilia the convo, like you had been in that house and dashed out for a beer.

I have not deleted the names as I am required to, now do not ati go to facebook and start sending
friends' requests all over the place, find your own friends.

Jon is a smart human, and I agree completely on the fashion is only opinions. This blog contains my opinions on fashion; (just a small reminder to that person who said I was not professional eehh sija
sahau.)

That aside, I have decided to put the dresses and skirts on hold. I am going to start posting my casual
looks. Full throttle ahead!! (I really do tend to abuse phrases) Anyway, the moment I get a smart phone
and the chip to my camera thats it! am turning into a real fashion blogger.
Mtaona sura yangu hapa everyday, front - left - back,  feet, neck, just me me, you are going to miss these damaris free days.

I have picked my favourite looks. Be inspired.

Converse Classic Look:

When it comes to chucks, I am all jeans and pants and leather and some more jeans. The classic look,
how it was intended. Sometimes I can be so rigid. This is exactly how I wear my chucks, but not white,
I have red ones, which I lost one side at a shoot and the tired black ones.

I bought some a while back in Kisumu, I was with small bro, and I was telling him there is no way these things are real, first they were brand new but we were buying from ana guy selling mtumba.
Bro insisted. So I bought. My friend! 2 weeks later the shoe and complete sole parted ways. As in I made
a step and the sole bakid nyuma. Aki these chinese.

I was at Bata the other day, shopping for the show am working on/at. I saw these black Tomys and fell in love. By the way you know North Star?. It is the kenyan reply to All Stars. Aki we are so clever.

You will not find them in the women's section as they are for Men. I tried them on and I completely love them. While at Bata check out the cow shoes in the ladies section. They are not called Cow shoes,- I just baptised them, but you will see what I am talking about. I really liked them, but they are a bit uncomfy, hard on the inside, I am still thinking of ways to go about that. Bata has some great casual shoes this
season and they have a free delivery option!!! Go visit BATA KENYA.
And look properly, it helps to OPEN your mind, you know most people have a very bad attitude towards Bata. Shame on you. By the way this is a new arrival so hurry, better get this than fake chinese converse.

Converse and Shorts:

For some strange reasons the women on the net blogging and wearing all stars love them in white,
I do not know why. Am okay with shorts and chucks, I especially love the first look, of girl in a hat.
She is me. But still I would not have gone with the high tops.

Chucks and A Dress:

Aki am not feeling this look kabisa kabisa. BLEH!! But this week am going to be professional and
give all looks, if your friends give you a funny look, do not point at me.

Chucks and a Maxi:

Am struggling with this look, it is here because of my acceptance mode today. trust me, am trying.
The woman in the middle, I love the jacket and dress. Dress is H&M and jacket is ZARA!! aki I love
that jacket to death. If you meet me wearing chucks and a dress know that my open shoes lost their
sole or the sandles katikad somewhere on the way.

Chucks and the Office:

Since I am in creative this look works for me all the time. I pull it off to meetings, and am self
employed too, that helps.  Do not try this if you work for a Bank, unless you want the day off permanently.

Chucks and a WEDDING:

Cute, especially for those of us who were not blessed with walking in heels skills, and excellento
for garden weddings.
Everybody is comfy, everybody is happy, way better than walking like a drunk grasshopper on your wedding day because you had to go wear towering hooker heels.

You can let your men wear them too. If you are a rock star this is what you want to go for. When done
well and the wearers look the part, everything goes.

So be you the dress and comfort kinda girl or classic jeans and chucks girl, go for it. As long as you are wearing the outfit and its not wearing you. Be a rock star!
And remember what Jon said "That's the beauty of fashion, it's an opinion never a fact!"

Talking of Rock stars I bought some bling, that I believe has put me up there with akina Florence
and The Machine.

Aaand thats a wrap on fashion now lets move on to other fashionable things that are not wearable.
But edible.

TOI WINE AND DINE

So, there is this place at the Junction Mall that I totally love. WWW SHOP and BAR.
Their wine is excellent, they have wine library really, the collection is impressive; the Whiskys- superb
and the food ga ga gai!! Sinful! Did I mention their champagne list?

The service is very good, and when I say very good, it is the good of not kenyan kind of good.
I am so used to bad service that the first time I went there I thought Arnold was confusing me with somebody else (Arnold left but not with the service) they are very nice to black folks, not like some of their neighbours!!
I want to highly recommend it, I was there with the girls for my last birthday, and they let us stay till late.
They usually close at 11pm. When I can I go, it is not often, but if the wallet allows I will go twice a week.

I know the prices are not exactly Toi, but treat yourself yawa, si ati everyday local local loco loco, once in a while dress up and go out. The nice clothes I keep talking about here need to be taken for a walk. And for the quality of what they offer it is quite within the price range.

Thursdays they have a live Jazz Evening, the last time I was there with Angelina, the band that played brought tears to the eyes, aki this City of ours has telent, ile mbaya mbovu!

Yeah I have bad habits too, do not remind me, I know. Look at that Mojito!!! Sheesh! And my friend that wine. The other reason I go there is real wine glasses!! Most restaurants in Nairobi dont know about that shit; They give you wine in this tiny depressing glass.

I call WWW The Wine/Whisky bar, its not easy telling someone on the phone "WE ARE AT WWW! Anyway they have all these kinds of interactive stuff going too, not ati just eating and drinking ndeeeee!! Wine tasting, Whisky Tasting, Cheese Tasting, na ukienda uko, aki usini embarrass, kama ni tasting, onja!

Christine swears by this steak, and I tell you she has sampled steaks in this city. So that should tell you something.

No need for me to add anything go find out.

You can find them HERE on Facebook.

Have a good one Folks!
Its Sunday again. Kwanza now just wacha I stop that storo of ati I will be trying to post everyday. It is too stale. Anyway as I have stopped copying Sai, I am back to my usual style. This is one of the dresses I got Kui, but she left it, we loved it on her, even Angelina can confirm it, but Kuis wasn't convinced, now I have taken it! Was thinking of selling it but Angelina insists I keep it.

Its from Gikosh by the way - a Dorothy Perkins. We were to go to Uhuru Park Today and I would have won this with my big hat? but devil of laziness that has entered this house is unbelievable.

Oh and that is Fanta. For those who have not met him,

STYLISH READER OF THE MONTH!

Had I known a peplum could look this good in african print, ningeenda kwa fundi kitambo sana! Anyway meet my good friend Sharon. Our second stylish reader. Between she is one of my biggest supporters, and since you all wanted someone to lead the pack, here is a leader.
Now you can follow, send me pictures of your stylish selves.

This is exactly how I would have shonad this, okay by that I mean the length. I love
loooove that length  and the print is just lovely. I have printed this picture out and I am
going to the fundi kesho. And let me add that if you are going to do this length and style,
do it like Sharon, keep it simple. The african print in its self is usually very busy and
majestic on its own. Dont try many madoidos like this girl below.
But I get the idea, I know what they were trying to do with that yellow. The heels are nice though, and I can tell from the look on her face that she too is not convinced by that dress. This outfit is not part of the the 4 dresses on the heading, it is a dress yes, but, well just no.

Anyway having been inspired by Sharon, I went to google to get more inspiration, well I did not get any that I think beats Sharon today, look at that yellow dress up there. But I came across this blogger Nelo, she is really good check her out. I love her already.
Nelo is blogging at FASHIONATI go visit. Look at how pretty she looks in that dress.

COFFEE AND CRUMBS

So fashion things are happening and for a good course, Liz just brought this to my attention, the Fashion High Tea; it was on Caroline Mutoko's wall, now this looks like an event I must attend, lakini the damages!! Anyway I am trying to reach the Grace. But now that she has not responded maybe all of you should just call her and tell her, "Dama has to come to that thing on our behalf!!!! ebu give her a  ticket!!" Maybe she will listen to you.

Thats about it for today. Talk soon.

Woi it has been along time coming! I had disappeared, under the Radar, ask you leafy suburb friends where that is:-)
3. There is no number 2 reason,
Anyway bombs have been going on in Eastleigh, now I dont know why people want to trash my beloved country, but it is getting to much yawa!

On the outfit! So on friday we went to Rhumba at deamvillage, that is where all old mamas like meself gather on Friday! I decided to try this Sai's outfit. You know the bag, the only thing you have not seen there is the scarf which I got for 2sok from Tom Mboya Street and the Ring for 150sok. The jacket, skirt and vest are from my stuff which, well did not come from Toi/Gikosh but can be found there.
The skirt, belt and Jacket I bought at Mango a whiiiiiile back, insert 4 years, and the vest I bought from those 5Euro shops owned by Indians in Antwerp.

My Hair Do which I totally love, is a weave, (idol) it cost 760KSH. It is synthetic but can be tonged and blow dried etc. Now I forget the name of the shop, but is on Tom Mboya Street, just a few shops after Galitos.

Vio, who has a salon at Kenya Cinema did the hair and she is really good, she even filled out for me the bangs after mine ran out. I highly recommend. So holla if you want her number! She did it for 8sok.

We need a Christmas carol

I have even included lyrics, sing away.
Now I love this Jennifer girl, really and the way she has lost so much weight, good stuff lakini sasa hii ni kitu gani?

Very Bad, dont try this even if you are 16

Due to my other rather tight schedule, I have not attended any event, and by the look of things I might not even attend the Eryka Badu concert. Read as I have calculated the budget, BRRRRR!!! enough to go to the coast for 5 days!
Now you know that is a tough decision for someone like me, I have not taken it to prayer, but I am still struggling with it.

I know I have two storos to bring to the table, I have been busy; so I am on it

It has been so long since I said something on MakeUp, but now I have realised preaching does not help, so I will just be using pictures, here is a start

Coffee and Crumbs

So I have been asked to dress some beauty peagants out of town, the event is on Sato, I have already met a few of them, should my camera not fail me I will update accordingly.

Of movies and things nice.........
Now I did not know that Whitney Houston had done a movie just before she died. It is brilliant, am not big on musicals, but this is the kind of musical I like. Whitney was brilliant, and am not saying that because she is dead;
The storyline is a bit weak because its what we know, I mean we have all heard that in other movies, but I still loved it!!
AND my favourite was the STYLE!!! aki now I am full swing on the 50's!!!
I have a wedding and a wedding and a wedding to attend before this month ends,  yeah those are way too many weddings but the world is ending on the 21st if you have not heard, well now you know.
I am going 50s full swing before rapture!!

Stylish Reader

I have been telling you peeps the way you need to send me pictures so I feature you here, and some of you are still joking! As in really how difficult can that be?
So meet out first stylish reader, Angela rocking the african print!
We love that dress!

Meanwhile,  you know these days, the way I dont watch news, with everything being political and just bleh! aki our politicians are just shady!
Haya there is my MP, Gideon Mbuvi Mike Sonko (am from Makadara) who now wants to be Senator of NAIROBI!!!!!!. Aki nitahama! Look at the way he is ooozing Pimp juice like a nonsense!! My ushago MP now is another one, aki I cant even start! This is a fashion blog so I will not get into politics, lakini Hon. Mak Ajwang' sasa ile room ya mabati imechoka in Mbita, which  is now brown ndio unaita immigration office; Una embarass ja luo for nothing.

Anyway You just GO OUT AND  REGISTER!!! The registry points are everywhere, here in South B, they are even outside Naivas!
Kuna vile somebody thought all registration centers are in one direction!  I dont know why somebody would come to that conclusion, but this is Kenya!

Another thing, now I have to give the blog another subtittle and we move from In the footsteps of Sai Sankoh, so I need suggestions, and please dont say Kenyan Girls Killing It, because you know and I know we are not killing it as yet, either that or we over killed it in the 50s ime kufa kabisa!

Cheers People and sorry for the long delay!
Its 11pm and a plot of Sailors has just shown up, how do I looooove december!!! there is that song of oh the weather outside is dreadful and there is baileys inside, what is it called?

Oh and I have some some great treats coming up; lots of music and fashion!! so keep it close, and ile story ya Drum and the billboard, I have not forgotten!!
As you can see Angelina showed out in a kitenge! Me I just went kawaida, but are we looking good or are we looking good! Now let me tell you that Angelina has lost so much weight, you need to get in touch with her if you are struggling in the weight department. Trust me you want to call her, she went on this diet that is miraculous, and you know the way there are a million diets that just don't work, well this one does and it is healthy too!! I have seen the way she has shed off that weight. Call her she will advice.

OK so for those who want to a fab kitenge like this call Esther on 070 386 7699. She is good, she is fast, and you can either bring your own fabric or you choose from her vast collection. She can come to you, of course if you live in Timbuktu she cant, but she has set up shop in town you can go there, give her a call and mention my good name, so I get some brownie point and I get something for free!

So since the Swahili Fashion Week came into town, everybody seems to be doing it, just that they are not a fashion week or weekend just a day. I dont know why they insist on calling them weeks and weekends and they are not!
I missed this one because of the location, yaani there is no way I can go that far for an event, from where I am standing Enashipai is in another country. And are you seeing that price! But I hear it was great, am scouting the net for pictures will update as they come it.

Then there is the Nairobi fashion week which apparently is coming soon but I have not seen anything of maana as yet from their facebook page, I have been there several times and I see thar they are praising the Lord over the coming of this but I have already tired of waiting. The status updates are reading like this...
FINALLY HERE COMES WHAT KENYANS HAVE BEEN DENIED FOR LONG!!!!!! JUST KEEP IT FASHION, KEEP IT HERE AND WATCH THIS SPACE.....
The Nairobi Fashion Week is a Registered trademark Registered in the Republic of Kenya under the Trade Marks Act CAP 506 of the laws of Kenya by DYNAMIC RACE MODELING AGENCY. It is theirfore illegal for any individual/persons to claim, use or purport to own The Nairobi Fashion Week as it contravenes The Trade Marks Act and the laws of Kenya. Welcome all to The Nairobi Fashion Week, We {Kenya} finally have our very own.
AHUH, sawa basi we are waiting, I don't know if we should hold our breath on this one or just wait. But the big question is: who denied us? fashion events are literally coming off Nairobi's ears

Then there is the SAFARI FASHION WEEK
Raw Energy Runway (that is a runway and a half , that should be seen by all and right after that they carry it to the national museum and lock it in a bulllet proof glass: A national treasure)
The Dress Code: Unzip your raw energy (Ngai! fafa) I have not decided wether I am going because that price can buy alot of things, why do they all have to be 3000 plus KSH! (I am accepting sponsors)

Anyway I have been over-using my brain thinking of how I can impress these posh people with some ghetto fabulousness, should I come up with that money that is. Now I cant wear a dress, jacket or any outfit  with a zip, that is just obvious. But HAIR!!! that will completely knock those buggers off their seats,  the only thing is I can't quite decide between this......

Or to just go full blown Naija!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! abeg ma sistah! Please dont try this at home.
We must continue with my friends prayer and do it without ceasing "God take zips out of your childrens hands, for they do not know what they do"
This is sad really sad.

Okay Somebody asked me about the bow I have on my head in this outfit; The scarf I got for very cheap I think it was like 20 KSH in TOI and I got some ideas from the lovely Shirley Beniang! She has amazing Tuts. Watch out for her blog and other videos.

FOOD

Because it is always good to eat healthy and because cooking is sooo much fun, really I love food, I love cooking and am actually really good ask Angelina, I will be sharing some of my favourite blogs on food. And another thing that should motivate you into the kitchen is that old "the way to a mans heart is through the stomach" you keep hearing from your mother, she is your mother she is right!! Yes dont let your housi cook all the time, it could end you in a bad place. Unaweza rudi nyumbani upate bwana ametoroka na watoto na house girl; ama you come find her in your clothes, wearing your perfume cuddling with the husband, alafu utaua mutu and end up in jail for nothing!
START COOKING!!

So please visit Wageci who is blogging about everything delicious and mouthwatering like the above dish, follow her, learn to cook, be healthy. You wont believe where she is blogging from! find her on her Facebook and her blog FOODIE IN THE DESERT!  with all the recipes. You will love her and then you will love me for that:-)

Oh I forgot there is the FAFA that is going on this weekend too, I dont know how I forgot, I am sure you all know about Fashion For Peace?

FAFA - Festival for Fashion and Arts, organises 'Fashion for Peace' which is focused on bringing together established and emerging African fashion designers from across the continent.
Company Overview
FAFA was created in 2008 by individuals from different nationalities and walks of life who came together with the belief that peace is fundamental to development and prosperity and that positive change comes when we stop focusing on the negative and encourage the inspiring and positive.

And here I was thinking Safari fashion week was expensive!!  So much fashion and somebody is saying we have been denied sijui what!! Lakini now I need a sponsor for sure! ama I just organise a mini Harambee!! And look at the number of sponsors FAFA have, sponsors za nguvu! si they sambaza me one!

Do have a lovely Week!

PS:
DreamVillage story ni ya kesho!!!
First of all I cant even begin to apologise, as you all know there has been rain allover the country South B area. That is one excuse number two, I have other jobs, see I have to sit down and do work, as it is obvious that I cannot make money with this blogging stuff:-)

Now you know the drill, meaning you know where to get everything. Between I did not go to Toi, because  my liquidity was very very low, mpaka even I shangaad at that bank account, it looked very foreign to me. (This is how shit happens)
But I will go, soon! Talking of that soon I think we need to go in a mob, so the bargaining power rises.

I want to encourage all the rich ladies who have cars to at least once in a while take a bus/matatu ride anywhere wherever you are, it is the most interesting thing this side of Karen!! Yesterday I sat between a man and a woman, the woman was lying through her teeth the way the matatu has just left town, huko we are already around Mater Hospital in South B. Then she is trying to put this person off, but she does not want me to get the conversation so she is just shifty with the whole thing "no! the answer is no, si I told you I would think about it,"

The man is in his late 40s knocking on 50, dressed in a suit like you would expect the people around my area to dress in a suit, very decent, and respectable looking, then his phone rings... Kelly Rowland screeching I loooove you, baby I neeedd yoooouuu, no matter what they say all I think about is you... am thinking he is not serious, then he answers it very calmly "good evening Mwalimu, how are you"
The man gets off at shoppi and this boy in his 20s gets in besides me, now he is trying the whole time to read the sms am texting, and everytime I try to catch him, he looks away very fast!!, aaahhh too deadly!!

Ok sorry not the purpose of the blog, I added some beads from Maasai market, to make the look my own.

And please please, dont worry about my tired face, I have been having a rough day, arguing with people on facebook.
Do have a lovely friday? FRIDAY!! Forecast for tonight, Alcohol: low standards and poor decisions.

Anyway should I go out tonight I will attempt this look.

CHEERS!
Okay, day one, first let me say I did not sleep at my house jana, but that is not important, it is late but I had to look and find, I like Sai's look better offcourse because of the flats, I love flats but my feet are way too large for flats I always have to stare at my feet and wonder why am unproportional, It is day one, so the 2 belt thing going on there should be ignored and anyway I like untidy..

Top- Mango
jeans- Diesel
Sandles- Bata

You know where to find everything, I have noticed that the sun shines differently everywhere or maybe its my camera:-))) I am accepting
Tonight is Karaoke so I will throw a black jacket over this and am good to go!!!
Have I added weight??
cheers..

I have gone over the pictures again and it looks tough!!! I am going baby visiting kesho so am going to go maxi.
I am going to be inspired by one of Sai's friend coz frankly I cant see me getting any of the outfits soon. I think friday is Toi day!!
